Campaign to Build Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Expands Scope, Increases Goal
Unprecedented Fund-Raising Success Demonstrates Depth of Support Within Dallas Community and Creates Opportunities for Enhancements to the Center

DALLAS (January 28, 2008) – The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts announced today that, in light of the continuing success of its capital campaign, it will expand the project to allow for enhancements to the design of Performance Park and improvements to two of the Center’s venues, the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House and the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre as well as the addition of a second underground parking garage. With more than a year and a half until the fall 2009 opening of the new Center and with current funding at more than $277 million, the Center’s Board of Directors recently voted to increase the campaign goal to $338 million to include these additional resources and enhancements to the facilities and public spaces.

Nancy Hamon Contributes $10 Million to Dallas Center for the Performing Arts
New Performance Space in the Center to be Named In Recognition of the Gift

DALLAS  (January 22, 2008) – The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts announced today that it has received a $10 million contribution from Dallas philanthropist Nancy Hamon. In recognition of this gift, a new performance space in the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House will be named in her honor: the Nancy Hamon Education and Recital Hall. Mrs. Hamon’s gift brings the total raised for the capital campaign to more than $277 million, surpassing the Center’s initial $275 million goal.

Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Brings TITAS to the Center
Beginning with the 2009-2010 Season, TITAS Moves Its Season of National and International Dance, Music and Performance Art to the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts

DALLAS (November 7, 2007) – The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts announced today that TITAS, the Dallas non-profit presenter of the world’s most highly acclaimed touring music and dance companies, will become the resident fine arts presenter at the Center.  Opening in fall 2009, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts is the most significant new performing arts center since New York City’s Lincoln Center. With four new venues, the Center will feature a full spectrum of performing arts programs, from classical opera, theatre, dance and music, to Broadway, popular music, festivals, films and family programs, to cutting-edge, culturally diverse music and dance companies such as those presented by TITAS.

Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Announces Brinker International Forum
New Series to Feature Renowned Performing and Visual Artists; Partnership Brings National Geographic Live! Events to Dallas

DALLAS (September 25, 2007) – The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts announced today its first annual production: the Brinker International Forum. The Forum, sponsored by Brinker International, will include six annual events, four presented in the form of performances, conversations, lectures and symposia featuring internationally renowned performing and visual artists. Two of the Forum’s annual programs will be National Geographic Live! events featuring the world’s leading scientists, explorers, filmmakers and photographers.
