Since the inception of the campaign in 2000, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts has hosted a variety of public events to inform Dallas on the progress of the campagin and donor events to raise funds to design and construct the Center. The events have featured extraordinary performing artists, including Sidney Poitier, Bernadette Peters, Beverly Sills, Mary Tyler Moore, John Travolta, Robert Redford, Tommy Lee Jones and Clint Eastwood, as well as internationally renowned architects and designers, including Norman Foster, Foster + Partners and Rem Koolhaas, Office for Metropolitan Architecture.
