The campaign to build the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts is the first of its kind in the history of Dallas, and is the largest campaign for cultural facilities in the city. The nine-year campaign to fund, design and construct the $338 million Center has advanced on schedule and on budget due to dedicated volunteers with visionary leadership.

From its inception, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts has been led by a distinguished Board of Directors comprised of many of Dallas' most important cultural, business, education and civic leaders. Howard Hallam, President of Ben E. Keith Company, serves as Board chair and Caren H. Prothro, civic leader, serves as Board vice chair.

The Center's 350-member President's Advisory Council is chaired by Dallas cultural leader and philanthropist, Linda Pitts Custard. The Council has been a valued volunteer component conveying the campaign's messages to audiences in and beyond Dallas.

In September 2007, the Center's inaugural program, the Brinker International Forum, was announced along with its Board of Advisors. The Forum's Board of Advisors is led by honorary chair Norman Brinker, chairman emeritus of Brinker International, Inc.; chair Jeremy Halbreich, chairman, president and CEO of American Consolidated Media; and vice chair Jeanne Marie Clossey, Dallas cultural leader.
